get_block
Read a block by tag (a hex block number or `latest`/`earliest`/`pending`/`safe`/`finalized`) from the configured chain. Returns the block header and its transactions; pass `fullTransactions: true` to receive full transaction objects instead of hashes. The default tag is `latest`.

Input
The tool takes a single JSON object. Every field, its type, and an example are on the generated reference at GET /mcp/tools, under this tool's name.
Calling it
{
"jsonrpc": "2.0",
"id": 1,
"method": "tools/call",
"params": { "name": "get_block", "arguments": {} }
}Put your arguments in place of the empty object. A call that fails comes back as a normal result carrying isError: true and a message naming what went wrong, not as a JSON-RPC protocol error.
The full request and response shape, and a live playground, live on the generated reference at GET /mcp/tools.
get_block_number
Read the head block number of the configured chain. Cheap — the cheapest chain read; pair with `get_block` to fetch the full block.
get_block_by_number
Read a specific block by its hex block number from the configured chain. Maps to `eth_getBlockByNumber` with a number selector (not a tag like `latest`). Use this for historical lookups where the caller already knows the block number; pair with `get_block_number` to find the head first. Returns the block header and its transactions; pass `fullTransactions: true` to receive full transaction objects instead of hashes.
